How long will the course take?
Most students complete this qualification in around 18 months, but you can finish sooner if you are ready to move faster.
If you need more time, we will work with you to create a study plan that fits your goals and meets any workplace, school or funding requirements.
You will have up to 24 months to complete the qualification. More time may be available in special circumstances.
Course Structure
This qualification includes 10 units: 5 core units and 5 electives.
Each unit includes assessments that build real workplace skills. Our trainers will support you to complete these assessments through your personalised Assessment Schedule.
Contribute to the health and safety of self and others

BSBWHS211 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work in a manner that is healthy and safe in relation to self and others, and to assist in responding to incidents. It covers following work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures, instructions and requirements; and participating in WHS consultative processes.
Work effectively in business environments

BSBOPS201 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in business environments. It includes identifying and working to organisational standards, managing workload and working as part of a team.
Support personal wellbeing in the workplace

BSBPEF201 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to advocate for and feel empowered about personal wellbeing in the workplace. It involves developing and applying basic knowledge of factors that may influence wellbeing, both positively and negatively.
Develop and apply thinking and problem solving skills

BSBCRT201 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to solve problems, develop questions and respond to feedback on questions on workplace issues.
Apply communication skills

BSBCMM211 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to apply basic communication skills in the workplace, including identifying, gathering and conveying information along with completing assigned written information.
Plan and apply time management

BSBPEF202 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement time management processes to organise and complete work tasks. It also addresses skills and knowledge to seek and review feedback for performance improvement regarding time management and use technology appropriate to the task.
Use business software applications

BSBTEC201 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to select and use software and organise electronic information and data.
Participate in sustainable work practices

BSBSUS211 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to measure, support and find opportunities to improve the sustainability of work practices.
Deliver a service to customers

BSBOPS203 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to deliver aspects of customer service at an introductory level. It includes creating a relationship with customers, identifying their needs, delivering services or products, and processing customer feedback.
Use digital technologies to communicate in a work environment

BSBTEC202 This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to effectively identify, select and use available methods of digital communication in a workplace context. These methods may include email, instant messaging and other similar platforms.

Funding options
The total course cost is $2,100, with no upfront payment required. You pay unit by unit as you progress, making study more manageable and affordable.
Each unit is $200, plus a $100 Student Administration Fee.

Entry Requirements
Computer and digital access
- A computer, tablet or laptop with a webcam for virtual assessments through Microsoft Teams
- A working internet connection
- Business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent)
- An active email account for communication and scheduling
Work Placement / Experience:
- Work placement and/or experience is not required, unless you are accessing User Choice Funding.
Pre-enrolment Skills

Before you start, we’ll assess your Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Skills through a pre-enrolment skills assessment. This helps us understand the support you may need during your studies. For a Certificate II qualification, you’ll need Level 2 skills in learning, reading, writing, oral communication, and numeracy as outlined in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF)
If you don’t meet these levels, we will guide you through your support options. You’ll also receive a practice assessment to help you prepare.
Unique Student Identifier (USI)

To enrol in nationally recognised training, you’ll need a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This ten-character code (numbers and letters) is required to enrol and to receive your qualification. For more information or to create your USI, visit usi.gov.au.
