What is Fee-for-Service Funding?
Fee-for-Service is a great, affordable option if you are not eligible for the Government funding options. It means you can still study your chosen qualification with Cple and pay for the qualification as you progress – there is no need to pay for the entire qualification upfront!
Each qualification involves different costs, based on qualification levels and the number of units of competency.
If you have previously completed any units of competency that are included in your chosen qualification, please notify Cple as you may be eligible for Credit Transfer. Applying for Credit Transfer is free and will result in you not needing to pay for any units that have been successfully credited. Cple will assist you with this process.
Please contact Cple to discuss Government funding options prior to making the decision to enrol as a Fee-for-Service student. We will assist you to determine if you are eligible for any Government funding, such as User Choice Funding.
NOTE: If you are not yet employed on a permanent basis, you can commence as a Fee-for-Service student and then change to User Choice Funding if you find permanent employment in an ACT workplace. Cple will assist you to discuss this option with your potential employer.
When do I need to pay for the qualification?
You are not required to pay for the qualification upfront. Instead, you pay the initial Student Administration Fee upon enrolment and then pay for each module (Units of Competencies) as you progress through the qualification. When you commence each module, we will invoice you for the units you have started.
You can also arrange regular payment instalments to make your life easy and studying affordable! We will assist you to find a payment plan to suit your needs.

Real-world flexibility in action
Case Study example: Aisha
Aisha has been working as a casual educator for the past 3 years and is eager to start taking on leadership responsibilities. She’s currently applying for permanent educator positions in the ACT but wants to start studying the Diploma as soon as possible. She needs a flexible model, like Cple’s study model, as it needs to fit in around her casual shifts and being a parent to a young child.
As Aisha is not yet employed permanently, she enrols with Cple under Fee-for-Service Funding and only pays for the Student Administration Fee and her first module ($350 – paying $100 a fortnight for 2 months).
While completing her first module, Aisha applies for permanent educator positions in early childhood services located in ACT. Her Cple Trainer/Assessor provides her with resume writing resources and interview tips, and refers her to some local job-seeker support services specialising in the Early Childhood Sector.
Aisha’s first module also provides her with a great understanding of the role of a lead educator, which helps her when she’s responding to questions in her job interviews. Her knowledge of how to develop a Quality Improvement Plan, and responding to parent concerns impresses the interviewers.
After 6 weeks, Aisha successfully secures permanent employment as a Diploma (working towards) Educator in an ACT service. Her Cple Trainer/Assessor has a conversation with her new employer to explain User Choice Funding and the benefits to the workplace and Aisha. As Cple’s study model is so flexible and adaptable to the workplace, her new manager agrees to Aisha accessing User Choice Funding. Cple arrange all of the paperwork and the sign-up process.
Aisha is then changed from Fee-for-Service Funding to User Choice Funding and she no longer needs to pay for her qualification.
